Our experience in the outdoor industry is vast and extensive. Our staff have been involved in the delivery, safety and management of outdoor providers for over 10 years, and one or two of our advisors for considerably longer.
Most outdoor centres operating with young people will be required to hold an Adventurous Activities Licensing Service Licence. One of the many requirements to obtain this licence is that the organisation has access to someone of the required standard to advise on issues relating to licensable activities. Many organisations that are not required to hold a license will use the AALS model as a basis for their own operation and will also require a technical advisor.
Intrepid Pursuits has extensive experience of Technical Advisory work and can offer a number of services to outdoor organisations who require this. Whether you are setting up and applying for your first license and require a comprehensive guide through the whole process, or just need a specific statement of competence for a member of staff, or somewhere in between, we are able to help. Any organisation must remain aware of changing legislation, eg, the new Working at Heights Directive and the new European Ropes Course Standard EN15567.
Intrepid Pursuits and our advisors remain current through various forums and are therefore able to ensure that all our clients are also keeping up to date with the law and current best practice. It is worth noting at this point that we do not operate as a name on a piece of paper to tick a box. We will only put our name to work in which we have had an active and valuable input.
