Walking Group Leader Training

For those who wish to lead a group of hill walkers in non- mountainous hilly terrain in the UK.

You will learn such skills as group management, navigation, emergency procedures, access and conservation and remote supervision.

This course is provided through our Partner Company Mountain Activities Ltd. Mountain Activities is a Mountain Leader Training England (MLTE) approved provider of the SPA, Mountain Leader, Walking Group Leader and Climbing Wall awards. Intrepid Pursuits and Mountain Activities have a long-standing partnership, running training and assessment courses throughout the UK together.

If you book your WGL Trainng course through Intrepid Pursuits you will be signing up for a course provided by Mountain Activities. The course may well be directed by Steve Anderson, founder of Intrepid Pursuits, and MLTE approved course director.

The prerequisites for attending a WGL Training Course are to have registered for the scheme with the MLTE.

Before you can register make sure you can answer yes to the following questions

• Are you at least 18 years old?
• Do you have a genuine interest in leading groups?
• Do you have at least 12 months hill walking experience?

Once you have registered you will be issued with a logbook and candidate reference number.

If you book onto a course with us and have not registered before attending, you will not be eligible for the course. Under these circumstances no refund of course fees is available.

 

Notes:
Self catered accommodation is provided as part of the course fee. Candidates are responsible for arranging their own transport and food.
